The variety is a diploid form of winter rye. It is characterized by excellent winter hardiness and medium resistance to lodging. Agrotechnical features include a medium need for growth regulators and the possibility of late sowing.
The plant possesses good resistance to powdery mildew of leaves, leaf rust and Fusarium head blight, and also demonstrates an excellent level of resistance to powdery mildew of the ear and a good level of resistance to Septoria leaf and glume blotch.
The grain quality of the Alamo variety meets the standards for food use, including indicators of falling number, protein content, bread volume and test weight.
