The Domača rž variety is an indigenous Slovenian variety which has the official status of a conservation variety. The name Belokranjska rž is indicated as one of its synonyms.
This variety is cultivated using traditional methods and does not undergo the standard distinctness, uniformity, and stability tests adopted for commercial varieties. Detailed morphological and agronomic characteristics of the plant are absent from official registers.
