Carla is an early-maturing variety characterized by medium stem height. The plant is noted for good stability and low susceptibility to lodging, and also demonstrates rapid initial development, which allows for effective weed suppression and soil erosion protection.

This variety is used as an intermediate crop to improve soil quality and enrich it with organic matter. Due to its ability to winterkill, the plant is convenient for use in mulch seeding systems.

The variety does not possess resistance to the sugar beet nematode Heterodera schachtii.
