Domaća is a group of traditional local populations (landraces) formed as a result of long-term selection in the conditions of the Balkans. The plant is annual, has an erect branched stem, pinnate leaves, and yellow flowers, reaching a height of 60 to 100 cm.

Under experimental conditions, seed yield ranged from 689 to 1295 kg/ha depending on soil and climatic conditions. The plant is characterized by high adaptability to the local climate, resistance to low temperatures, and the ability to suppress weed vegetation.

The crop is traditionally used as a green manure to improve soil structure, enrich it with nutrients, and control nematodes. The variety is also grown to obtain seeds used in the food industry and is valued as a good honey plant.
