Unifort is a specialized interspecific hybrid used exclusively as a rootstock for grafting commercial tomato varieties. Its use allows for a significant increase in the growth vigor of the grafted plant, as well as an improvement in its overall yield.

The plant possesses complex resistance to diseases, including Fusarium wilt, Verticillium wilt, Tomato mosaic virus, and root-knot nematodes. The use of this rootstock promotes better adaptation of the scion to stress conditions, such as moisture deficit or soil salinity.
