The variety was obtained through interspecific breeding using a salt-tolerant Solanum pimpinellifolium specimen as the maternal plant and drought-adapted Solanum lycopersicum varieties as paternal forms.
The purpose of the material is to create a genetic resource for improving cultivated tomato varieties, including their use as rootstocks or for obtaining allotetraploid plants. The produce can be used for both fresh consumption and industrial processing.
