The plant is determinate. The fruits are small in size, weighing about 15–20 grams, with a sweet taste and a fleshy structure.

Historically, the variety was used primarily for making tomato sauces, although it was also consumed fresh. The variety was virtually lost during the period after 1970, after which efforts were initiated for its restoration and preservation.
