The variety includes several versions, in particular "Selezione Degli Ortolani 2" and "3". Version "2" has a determinate growth type (90–100 cm) and oval red fruits weighing 90–120 g, gathered in clusters of 6–10 pieces, and matures in 65–75 days.

Version "3" refers to tall tomatoes with large fruits having characteristic yellow-green "shoulders" at the stalk. This is a late-maturing variety with a ripening period of about 90 days, requiring increased attention to fertilization.

Genetically, these lines are based on preserved material of San Marzano ecotypes. Different breeding lines may be hidden under the general name, so plant traits may vary significantly.
