AmaRosa belongs to the fingerling potato group. The plant has a semi-erect habit and high productivity, forming up to 30 tubers per plant. The maturation period is from 85 to 95 days.
Tubers have an elongated spindle shape, smooth deep red-pink skin, and intensely red flesh. The variety has high resistance to common scab and tuber late blight, but is moderately susceptible to potato virus Y and potato leafroll virus.
The tuber flesh has a creamy texture and nutty flavor, and retains its color after heat treatment. The product is characterized by an increased content of anthocyanins and minerals.
