The Harghita variety is the result of crossing the MPI 61516/20 and Certo varieties. The plant forms a well-developed bush with abundant foliage and a semi-erect habit. The starch content in the tubers is about 18.5%, and the variety belongs to the B/C culinary class.
The variety has pronounced genetic resistance to potato wart, potato virus Y, and potato leafroll virus. The variety shows a medium degree of resistance to late blight of leaves and tubers.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
