The Jacova variety was obtained in Denmark by the breeding company Landbrugets Kartoffelfond. It is based on the hybridization of the Mentor and Kiva varieties. The variety has been mentioned in official documents since 1986.
Detailed agronomic descriptions, such as maturity group, yield indicators, or data on disease resistance, are absent in open sources. The variety appears primarily in lists of genetic collections and databases of breeding institutes.
