The variety belongs to the category of local varieties for conservation and has many synonyms, such as Tysk blå, Ellakka, Jutkula, Puikula, and others. It is an object of folk breeding and is not the result of a modern intensive breeding program.
Tubers are characterized by a long-oval or long shape, a smooth surface, and shallow eyes. The variety is mid-season. When boiled, the tubers are slightly floury and have good taste qualities.
