The variety is mid-season, the vegetation period to wax ripeness of the grain is 105–115 days, to full ripeness 120–125 days. The plants are tall, reaching a height of 220–250 cm, have erect succulent stems and wide leaves up to 80 cm long. Panicles are oval, black-brown in color, grain is brown, large.

The variety possesses high heat tolerance, drought tolerance, and lodging resistance, and is also resistant to cold spells during the seedling stage and smut infection. The sugar content in the stems at full grain maturity is 13–19%, juice yield reaches 65% of the biomass weight.
