The Cocopah variety (breeding number PV-1449) is a hybrid of Spinacia oleracea with a semi-savoy leaf type, having moderate blistering. The leaves are characterized by a medium-green color and a round-oblong shape.

The plant belongs to fast-growing varieties suitable for intensive cultivation, including in protected ground. The crop demonstrates high density and the ability to form quality produce during repeated cuttings.

The variety possesses high resistance to downy mildew races 1–18 (Pfs 1-17/18) and leaf spot (Stemphylium vesicarium), with a noted moderate susceptibility to white rust (Albugo occidentalis).
