The plant has an upright shape, which facilitates mechanical harvesting. The leaves are smooth, round-oblong in shape, and colored medium to dark green. The variety belongs to the group with medium growth rates and a second early maturity period.

Colusa possesses high resistance to downy mildew (races Pfs 1–17). Resistance or moderate resistance to leaf spot and white rust is also noted. The variety is suitable for spring and autumn cultivation, adapted to various conditions, including organic production.
