Variety description

Compact dense shrub with an upright habit and active branching, reaching 2–3 meters in height. Own-root plant that does not produce unwanted suckers. Leaves are ovate or broadly ovate, measuring 8–10 cm in length and 7–8 cm in width, and are dark yellow-green in color.

Flowering occurs from May to June. Inflorescences are conical, compact, measuring 16–20 cm by 11–13 cm. Buds have a purple hue; opened flowers are light violet-blue with a purple reverse side. Single, semi-double, and double flowers occur simultaneously on the same shrub.

The variety has high winter hardiness for zones 1–6. Prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations and rich, calcareous soil. Recommended for solitary and group plantings, as well as for creating free-growing hedges.
