The variety is a population of early-flowering ecotypes with an energetic, upright growth habit and rapid early development. Compared to other varieties, it may have a sparser foliage density.

The plant is susceptible to stem nematode infestation and sensitive to root rots, which limits its longevity under intensive grazing. The variety is distinguished by high productivity during the summer period, however, it is characterized by a high estrogen content, specifically formononetin.

This variety has historically been used for forage purposes for pasture establishment, as well as for hay and silage production. In breeding programs, it served as source material for developing lines with low estrogen content.
