The Hamidori variety (sometimes designated as Hamidori 4n) is a tetraploid form of red clover. It is intended for use as a forage crop, including in the establishment of mixed pastures.

In scientific literature, the variety serves as a reference specimen in comparative trials. It is studied for dry matter yield, flowering dates, phytoestrogen concentration, as well as characteristics of interactions with pathogens and symbiotic root-nodule bacteria.
