The variety is diploid (2n) and has been used for a long time in agricultural research and production trials as a control standard. The variety was used in grass mixtures for temporary pastures.

In scientific works, the variety was used for studying plant salt tolerance, analyzing biochemical traits, and isolating strains of nitrogen-fixing bacteria from root nodules. In modern breeding programs, it is being gradually replaced by more productive varieties.
