Iona belongs to the group of medium-leaf varieties. The variety is characterized by high yield and good persistence, and also effectively competes with associated grasses in the sward.

The plant is intended for inclusion in pasture grass mixtures and is suitable for livestock grazing. The variety is capable of fixing atmospheric nitrogen and increasing the nutritional value of the forage.
