The variety is characterized by specific morphological traits that distinguish it from other varieties, in particular petiole length, as well as the width and length of the central leaflet. Genetic studies using SSR markers confirm the close relationship of this variety to the Ladino type.

In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned as a specimen exhibiting relatively high resistance to stress factors, including salinity, compared to a number of other Trifolium repens genotypes.
