The Tamar variety possesses morphological traits with a medium to large leaf size. In agricultural studies, its tillering ability is noted.

The plant demonstrates inconsistent performance under drought conditions: some sources indicate its drought resistance, while other trials show low resistance to severe moisture deficit. The leaves of the variety contain a relatively high level of cyanides.
