The TRIFO variety, also known as Trifo Dæhnfeldt, is a forage crop. It is valued for its longevity, ability to fix nitrogen in the soil, and high tolerance to intensive grazing.

During agronomic research in the mid-20th century, the variety demonstrated yields comparable to other common varieties of that time. A distinctive characteristic of the variety is its resistance to clover stem nematode.
