The variety belongs to the substituted types of triticale, in whose genotype the 2R rye chromosome pair is replaced by a 2D wheat chromosome pair. During its period of popularity in the 1980s, the variety was primarily used as feed grain for fodder production.

Studies of that period noted the high stability of the thousand kernel weight of this variety under various growing conditions. In modern agronomy, the variety is practically not used, as it has given way to more productive and stress-resistant generations of triticale.
