The FDL Caltrit variety is characterized by high yield, reaching an average value of 8070 kg/ha during official trials with maximum indicators exceeding 10 000 kg/ha. Grain protein content is 12–13%. The variety is suitable for cultivation on various soil types, including podzolic and fertile lowland areas.

The plant possesses good lodging resistance and a high level of resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus, however, it exhibits relative sensitivity to new races of yellow rust. The level of resistance to grain sprouting in the ear is rated as medium.
