The variety belonged to winter forms of triticale. Breeding was aimed at developing plants for both feed and food purposes.

During the breeding process, particular attention was paid to increasing winter hardiness, resistance to diseases and lodging through stem shortening, as well as improving the quality characteristics of grain and gluten.
