The winter triticale variety Negoiu was developed at the National Agricultural Research and Development Institute in Fundulea (Romania). In scientific literature, it most often serves as a standard sample (control) when conducting comparative tests of new lines and varieties.
The plant belongs to modern triticale varieties. Genetic studies classify the variety as susceptible to yellow rust. Experiments have studied grain yield and protein content indicators, which demonstrate a dependence on the level of nitrogen fertilizers and seeding density.
The agricultural purpose of the variety includes the production of biomass and grain suitable for feed purposes. The variety is also used as an object for evaluating the effectiveness of various agrotechnologies.
