Piano is a winter triticale variety developed within the framework of a Polish breeding program. The variety was focused on achieving high grain quality while maintaining thousand kernel weight and test weight indicators.

During the breeding process, the main attention was paid to improving winter hardiness and increasing plant lodging resistance. The variety's production was traditionally intended for use in livestock farming as part of compound feeds due to the high biological value of the grain.
