The Attis variety is used as a reference sample when conducting comparative trials for distinctness, uniformity, and stability. The genotype is adapted to the climatic conditions of Northern Europe, in particular Finland, and is used in scientific research on the harvest index.

Morphologically, the variety is characterized by the presence of a waxy bloom on the culm neck, which is assessed as medium.
