The variety is an old genotype used in breeding due to its phytopathological resistance. It exhibits good field resistance to leaf rust, yellow rust (due to the presence of Yr18/Lr34 genes), and an increased level of resistance to the spread of Fusarium head blight.
Grain quality is evaluated as low for baking, which is confirmed by low sedimentation indices and the presence of HMW-GS 2+12 glutenin subunits, associated with weak rheological properties of the dough. In modern conditions, the variety is inferior to new hybrids in yield potential.
