The variety belonged to the category of standard crops of its time and was characterized by higher grain quality compared to a number of other varieties of that period. It was created on the basis of local breeding materials.
Morphologically, the wheat was distinguished by a tall stem, which hindered mechanized harvesting with combines and required the use of a two-phase method. The variety was prone to lodging and inferior in yield to later modern varieties, which led to its gradual displacement from industrial production by 1969.
