The variety belongs to the group of plants forming a short ear. According to genetic studies, the Schedra nyva variety belongs to the VII haplotype based on Ppd-D1 photoperiod sensitivity genes.

Scientific papers note the variety's resistance to snow mold infection. Studies were also conducted to evaluate the resistance of this variety to damage by Oulema melanopus.
