The variety is a product of the Greek breeding program of the Cereal Institute in Thessaloniki. The genetic pedigree of the variety is linked to Mexican lines, in particular to the Mexicali-81 variety.

The variety is characterized as drought-tolerant, but possessing a high dependence on growing conditions, which is expressed in the instability of yield indicators when the external environment changes. Qualitative indicators of grain, including the content of gliadins and glutenins, are assessed as good.

Detailed morphological descriptions and quantitative indicators of disease resistance are absent in open sources. The variety is often used in scientific works as genetic material for the analysis of the biochemical composition of grain and the adaptability of wheat in the Mediterranean.
