The Arkhypelah variety was created with the participation of the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute. Its grain is used primarily in the pasta industry.

In scientific works analyzing the productivity of winter durum wheat, the variety is characterized as a breeding achievement demonstrating high yield in comparison with older standards, such as the Burshtyn variety.
