The variety is used primarily as an object of genetic research. There is data in scientific literature regarding the presence of resistance genes in it; in particular, a rust resistance gene is mapped on chromosome 7BL.

The variety is intended for use in breeding programs for the improvement of resistance traits, as well as for traditional pasta flour production.
