The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work based on a combination of parent forms Simeto and Capeiti/Valforte. It is included in official European variety catalogs as durum wheat.

The variety has high grain quality, which is used to produce semolina. With a high grain weight, a tendency toward a decrease in pigment content is noted, which is explained by an increase in the proportion of starch in the grain composition.
