The Duetto variety belongs to the species Triticum durum. During comparative trials of varieties released in 2001–2005, it demonstrated high productivity, exceeding the figures of the control samples.

The plant is used in the food industry. Due to characteristics typical of durum wheat, the variety is suitable for the production of pasta and semolina, which require high protein content and quality gluten.
