The variety was obtained in 1972 by crossing Triticum durum and T. aestivum. Plants of this variety are short-statured and distinguished by good early maturity and high yield.

The grain quality of the variety is recognized as insufficient for pasta production. Despite good adaptation to growing conditions, the variety has lost its relevance due to unsatisfactory technological grain characteristics required by the processing industry.
