The durum wheat variety Imhotep is characterized by specific indicators of protein composition, in particular the ratio of HMW-GS/LMW-GS glutenin fractions, which determine semolina quality. Its characteristics are often discussed in scientific publications devoted to the genetic diversity of tetraploid wheats.

Within the framework of the Italian variety testing network, this variety demonstrates resistance to stem rust compared to susceptible control samples. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as maturity group or plant height, are not presented in open scientific sources.
