The variety is a semi-dwarf form of durum spring wheat with white awns and glumes. Genetically, it is a product of crossing the Cando and Edmore varieties.

The plant possesses resistance to most races of stem rust, moderate resistance to leaf rust and black point, as well as moderate susceptibility to stripe rust.

Flour of this variety is distinguished by strong gluten and increased water absorption capacity. Products made from this variety's grain are characterized by high firmness after cooking, which makes it in demand for breeding programs.
