The variety has medium-tall plants and ears with brown awns. It is characterized by low lodging resistance and a thousand kernel weight of more than 48 g. Regarding diseases, it shows medium tolerance to powdery mildew and septoria, while being susceptible to leaf rust and Fusarium head blight.

The grain is distinguished by a high protein content (over 14%), excellent vitreousness, good test weight, and semolina color intensity. The variety is oriented towards industrial processing. In the USA, a modified soft form called Soft Svevo was also developed, obtained by introducing puroindoline genes for baking purposes.
