The variety was developed through a complex cross of four northern durum wheat varieties with two high-yielding southern varieties. The plant is a mid-height semi-dwarf and is characterized as mid-early, possessing good lodging resistance.
The variety is intended for cultivation in desert climate regions under irrigation. Despite the fact that the yield of the variety is lower than that of many other commercial counterparts, it is highly valued for its grain quality, suitable for pasta production, and is used in breeding as a donor of valuable traits.
