The variety is a winter soft wheat with a white stem and an awned spike of pyramidal or fusiform shape, having straw-yellow glumes. The caryopsis is white, medium-sized.

The variety carries the Lr3 leaf rust resistance gene and is widely used in scientific work as a reference sample for studying rust pathogens and as a gene donor when breeding new varieties.
