The tulip variety Belfort belongs to the double fringed tulip group. The plant has a sturdy peduncle 40–50 cm tall, on which a double flower 10–15 cm in diameter with needle-like fringe on the edges of the petals is formed.

The petal color is a saturated raspberry-red or burgundy-raspberry. A characteristic feature is the green outer petals, which create a framing effect for the bud. The variety is late-flowering, with the flowering period occurring in April–May.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zones 3–4, and resistance to high temperatures. The variety is suitable for landscaping flower beds, mixed borders, container cultivation, and use as cut flowers.
