Tulip 'Black Hero' belongs to the late double tulip class. The flowers are fully double, resembling a peony or rose in shape, with a diameter reaching 8–12 cm and a bud height of 6–7 cm. The petal color is saturated, dark purple or dark burgundy; the outer petals may be lighter than the inner ones.

Plant height varies from 30 to 60 cm. Leaves are linear-lanceolate, green. Flowering is late, occurring in May. The variety possesses frost resistance, high disease resistance, and strong flower stalks, although the heavy flowers may lodge under adverse weather conditions.

The plant is used for creating borders, group plantings, and flower beds, and is also suitable for cutting, as it retains freshness in bouquets for a long time.
