The Double Prince variety is a sport mutation of the Purple Prince tulip. The plant reaches a height of 35–50 cm, has linear green leaves, and belongs to the early-flowering double tulip group.

The flowers are purple in color. The variety possesses winter hardiness and peduncles resistant to spring precipitation. It is suitable for use in landscape design, as well as for forcing in substrate or water and creating bouquets due to its high vase life.
