The variety is a mutant of the Madonna tulip and belongs to the parrot group. The petals have a characteristic "feathered", twisted and curved shape. The flower color is dark purple-red, often complemented by darker, almost blue-black streaks.

Plant height ranges from 40 to 60 cm. The variety belongs to the late-blooming category, occurring in May. The plant is suitable for landscaping flower beds, borders, container cultivation, and use in cut flowers.

For planting, sunny or partially shaded areas with fertile, well-drained soil are recommended. Due to large and heavy flowers, it is recommended to plant the variety in areas protected from strong wind to prevent stem lodging. The plant is adapted to hardiness zones 3–8.
