The classic tulip Saigon belongs to the Triumph group. It reaches a height of 40–50 cm and has large satin flowers of a cone-shaped or cup-shaped form in purple with lilac iridescence. The foliage is dark green, xiphoid, with a wavy surface. The variety is mid-flowering, suitable for forcing, cutting, and landscaping.

The Saigon Double variety belongs to double late tulips. The plant reaches a height of 38–45 cm and is distinguished by double peony-shaped flowers of a spherical form, colored in purple, which looks almost black in the bud. Due to the weight of the buds, the variety requires monitoring of stem strength.
