The Sun Valley variety belongs to the Single Early tulip group. The plant has deep yellow flowers. The variety was bred by crossing the parent forms Strong Gold and Friend Red.

Detailed agronomic indicators, such as precise plant height or disease resistance data, are absent in open publications. The name Sun Valley is also used as a brand for an American company engaged in the supply of a wide range of tulips, which is not the name of a specific cultivar.
