Variety description

The variety belongs to the Darwin hybrid group, obtained by crossing Darwin group tulips with wild forms of Tulipa fosteriana. The plant reaches a height of 40–80 cm and has strong, lodging-resistant peduncles. Flowering occurs in the period from April to May.

The flowers are large, of a classic goblet shape, often exceeding 10 cm in diameter. The petals are colored rose-scarlet or bright red with a wide golden-yellow border, which may acquire orange shades with age. The variety has high resistance to spring frosts, tulip breaking virus, and is suitable for forcing.
